AHCC®的中文为担子菌精华提取物。AHCC®是从香菇的菌丝体中培养和提取当中的活性成分。AHCC®于1989年由东京大学药学部冈本敏彦教授和阿明诺化学株式会社共同研究开发的膳食保健品 (功能食品)。
AHCC®是通过专利，长时间在液体罐内培养制造出来的。由于活性成分不同，AHCC®有别于其它的蘑菇提取物产品。AHCC®是担子菌的菌丝体 (蘑菇根部线状物) 在大型发酵罐中进行45-60天的培养后，菌丝体通过预培养形成菌落 (菌丝体的团块)，经过酶反应、杀菌、浓缩、冻干等工序。
